The 1st edition of the International Congress "Bridging the Digital Gap", which will take place at ESI-European Software Institute in Zamudio (Bizkaia), from 3rd to 5th June 2009, in the framework of the Week@ESI , awaits the visit of Rahaf Harfoush, US President Barack Obama on-line communication manager. She will be opening the conferences at the ESI installations with a speech entitled "Yes we did, " which is focused on the social networks and media as a strategic tool.

The congress, which will take place over a period of three days, wants to be a place of congregation and networking for those who work to bring technology closer to society as well as those who work to bring citizens and companies closer to technology. It has been organised in the framework of Week@ESI!, an IT networking forum that is being held from June 1 to 5. It is aimed to be a meeting point for all players involved in improving competitiveness in the Information and Communication Technology sector (ICT) and in promoting the Information Society (IS) in their areas.
