Polls open in the Basque Country for Parliamentary Elections

Electoral colleges opened their doors to vote in European Parliament elections at 09:00AM and will close at 20:00 in the evening, when votes will be counted.

Electoral colleges in the Basque Country opened their doors at 9:00AM so citizens can execute their right to vote in European Parliament elections.

A total of 1,779.424 voters are called to vote in the Basque Country. 1,730.764 of them are residents of the Basque Autonomous Community, while 44,353 are Basques living outside their province and 4,307 are EU citizens living in the Basque Country, according to the data provided by INE (National Statistics Institute).

By territory, the main number of voters concentrates in Bizkaia (953,810), followed by Gipuzkoa (576,372) and Alava (249,242).

23,121 electoral colleges opened their doors at 09:00AM in all the State and will be opened until 20:00 in the evening, when votes will be counted.

More than 35,5 millions of citizens registered in the census will be able to give their vote until 20:00PM. First details will be available at 22:00PM.

Parliament will start releasing results at 2000 GMT after the last ballot station closes.&' || 'nbsp;In these elections it is obligatory to wait until all EU countries finish voting. The votes will be counted by an optical reader that will collect information from the bar code of each ballot.
