The council of Pamplona has this year proposed a budget of 4 million euros for the traditional fiesta, which will take place beween 6th-14th July.

Of the total proposed cost, 2.8 million euros will go towards funding cultural activities while the remaining 1.2 million will pay for security and cleaning services in the city.

The mayoress of Pamplona, Yoland Barcina, presented the programme for this year''s celebrations: included in the list of concerts feature such acts as Manolo Escobar, Kepa Junkera, Fangoria, Lucas Masciano, Krakovia and Siniestro Total.

The municipal government has made provisions for a total of 592 activities in the official programme, the majority of which will be musical acts. According to the mayoress, local groups will take centre stage this year.

Last week, the council of Pamplona began preparations for the festivities with the installation of the fences for the bull-running enclosure.
