Spanish National High Court judge Baltasar Garzón on Tuesday ordered the search and arrest of alleged ETA member Maite Aranalde, who was released last week after being extradited from France.

Aranalde, who did not attend her weekly court appearance before the judge, paid a bail of 12,000 euros to be released by Spanish authorities.

Garzon admitted a prosecution appeal against the release of Aranalde and ordered her imprisonment on Monday. When security forces proceeded to arrest the suspected ETA member at her home in Ibarra, Gipuzkoa, Arenalde had already disappeared.

Ertzaintza, or Basque police, on Friday 28 broke up a group of people who were welcoming Aranalde in her hometown after having been extradited.
