France sends ETA member Aitor Agirrebarrena to Spain

Agirrebarrena was sentenced to 23 years in prison due to the deaths of two civil guards and journalist José Luis López de la Calle's assassination.

France on Wednesday extradited ETA member Aitor Aguirrebarrena Beldarrain, member of the command Ttotto, to Spain. He was condemned over the killing of the civil guardsJosé Ángel de Jesús Encinas and Irene Fernández Pereda in Sallent de Gállego (Huesca), and for the assassination of journalist José Luis López de la Calle, among other attacks.

Both blasts took place in 2000.

Spanish National Court had asked for the extradition because of the explosion of a car bomb against the Civil Guard barracks of Villa de Ágreda (Soria, Spain), in July 2000.

Aitor Agirrebarrena, alias Peio, was born in Tolosa (Gipuzkoa) on the 1st of July 1977 and was arrested in a police control of the French Gendarmerie in Aubusson (France) the 4th of June 2002.
