Basque Country on alert due to heavy swell

Bad weather worsens in the Basque Country and Navarre. Snow level will be around 900 meters in Navarre.

Basque Meteorology Agency (EUSKALMET) warned that severe swell was expected on Sunday bringing 8-meter waves. There will also be northwest strong wind, around 80 km/h in exposed areas, especially on the coast. They could reach 120 km/h on Sunday.

Euskalmet also warns about yellow alert due to rainfalls over 80l/m2 in 24 hours. Heavy rainfalls with possible hail are expected on Saturday evening and Sunday.

Snow level will be around 1,100-1,300 meters and 900 meters in Navarre. There will be very strong gusts of wind on the coast and mountain areas. There will be 8-meter waves and with very strong northwest gusts of wind. Temperatures will slighlty fall. Rainfalls and wind strength will subside on Monday evening.
