The two suspected pirates arrested for participating in the kidnapping of the Basque trawler Alakrana have been prosecuted by the Spanish High Court judge Santiago Pedraz. They are accused of 36 crimes for false arrest and one count of robbery with violence and weapons use. However, they have not been charged for illegal assembly and therefore could be judged in two weeks.

The judge of the High Court took the decision after a request of the Prosecutor, who on Saturday asked for the prosecution of Abdu Willy and Haman Adji Raageggesey for the crimes above. Nevertheless, they were not charged for illegal assembly, so following the immigration law there is a possibility of being expelled and sentenced to less than 6 years in prison.
