Esteemed British actress, Vanessa Redgrave, will attend the Guggenheim Museum on Wednesday night to present the documentary Wake Up World, which she herself produced back in 2007 and which was directed by her son, Carlo Nero, for the 60th anniversary of Unicef. According to the organisers of Zinebi, the Oscar-winning actress will be at the Guggenheim from 7.30pm onwards.

Before the arrival of Vanesa Redgrave, at around midday on Wednesday, Hollywood Academy member Freida Lee Mock revealed the selection process for short films at the Oscars; the Zinebi awards, as a collaborative film festival, form part of this process. The American director and producer was accompanied by up-coming young producer and director Jessica Sanders and British independent director Chirs Jones, who spoke about his experience writing and editing The Guerrilla Filmmakers Handbook. The three were invited to open the seminary workshop Zinebilab which took place as part of Zinebi for the ninth consecutive year and is aimed at students, young directors and experts of audiovisual production.
