The 11th edition of Dantzaldia International Dance Festival kicked off on Saturday February 6th in Bilbao (Biscay) in collaboration with Mal Pelo dance company- recenlty awarded with the 2009 National Dance Awards- and La Fundación Aretoa, organizer of the festival. The festival will finish on March 12th.

Besides, this year cinema and dance will go hand in hand thanks to an agreement with ZINEBI. Thus, several short films related to the world of dance will be screened.

Basque dance will be also present in the festival: Basque dance company from Renteria (Gipuzkoa) KUKAI will be perfroming.

La Fundición Aretoa headquarters, Palacio Euskalduna and Teatro Campos will host among others this year’s espectacles. Dantzaldia will first the first cultural event celebrated at Teatro Campos, after five years of restructuring.

Bilbao''s Dantzaldia festival presents a variety of dance performances each year, from modern to more traditional dance.
