The Chillida Leku museum is celebrating its 10th anniversary in September 2010, so the Hernani''s (Gipuzkoa) gallery is organising a programme of activities including exhibitions, institutional and educational events and special actions intended for the audience to know more on the Basque artist.

As part of the anniversary, the Ysios bodega has launched the wine Ysios-Chillida Leku 10th Anniversary in order to offer a special coupage inspired on the spirit of Eduardo Chillida.

The winemaker Luis Zudaire, following the Chillida''s poetic reflection "Be alert and free until the end, guided only by an aroma" has created this new wine, which is a 2007''s tempranillo, a variety of black grape widely grown to make full-bodied red wines in its native Spain and the main grape used in La Rioja region.

This special wine, brewed after being 15 months in French oak barrels and other 10 months in bottles, will be available both at the Ysios bodega and the Chillida Leku museum.

Ysios-Chillida Leku 10th Anniversary will be present in all the celebrations planned for this year at the Basque museum.

The Ysios winery was designed by Santiago Calatrava to blend into the landscape of the town of Laguardia in La Rioja at the base of the Sierra de Cantabria. The bodega features a mixture of modern style and practical design to facilitate the winemaking process.
