On Friday March 12th, Spanish director Emilio Aragon''s latest film Pajaros de Papel (Birds of Paper) will make its Spanish debut.

The movie is based in Spain during the years following the civil war and tells the story a company of comedic actors who try to make a living after losing everything.

Fledging director Aragon admits to being inspired by his own family experiences when writing the screenplay alongside Fernando Castets, a role he combined with both producing the film and writing the soundtrack.

A dramatic comedy, the movie attempts to relive the difficulties of the intergenerational years, easing the sense of pain and sorrow felt by people at the time through the hilarious shows put on by the protagonists.

Basque musician Kepa Junkera not only worked with Emilio Aragon on the movie soundtrack but also helped by teaching and advising the lead actors about playing the Basque diatonic accordion, known as the Trikitixa, which has an important role in the film.
