Spanish actor Miguel Angel Silvestre, best known for his role in the national series Sin tetas no hay paraíso, is set to play the part of the captain of hijacked tuna fishing vessel Alakrana in a new movie to be directed by Salvador Calvo. The film will endeavour to recreate the 47 days when the Bermeo ship was held in the Indian Ocean by Somali pirates.

The production company recently revealed names of some of the team scheduled to take part in the filming of Alakrana, penned by award winning screenwriter Jorge Guerricaechevarría who wrote the screenplay for Cell 211. Besides Silvestre, another name down on the cast list is Max Award-winner, Françesc Orella.

The claustrophobic atmosphere and the tense ransom negotiations will form the main crux of the feature, giving particular focus to the crew members'' families and the media frenzy caused by the hijack.
