American Jazz double-bassist Charlie Haden will be playing live this Saturday at Bilbao''s Teatro Campos Elíseos, the city’s town hall has informed.

Haden will be accompanied by the three other members of the Charlie Haden Quartet West: saxophonist Herime Watts; pianist Alan Broadbent and drummer Rodney Green, who will be celebrating twenty-three years playing live performances.

According to the concert organisers, Haden is attributed with heading "the beginning of modern jazz". During this Saturday''s event, the band will be playing bebop tunes by musicians such as Charlie Parker, Bud Powell and Lennie Tristano.

Haden is a musical producer, composer and teacher. He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including three Grammys. Saturday''s concert kicks off at 8pm; tickets can be bought for six euros.
