Bill Wyman, the ex-Rolling Stones bassist, visits the Basque capital of Vitoria-Gasteiz on Friday May 26th with his new group, The Rhythm Kings. This performance marks the first in a tour of concerts the band has lined up around Spain, which includes stops in Segovia, Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo and Barcelona.

After 31 years with the Rolling Stones, in 1996 Wyman formed ''The Rhythm Kings'', a band which performs a medley of blues, soul and jazz songs. Their first album, Struttin our Stuff, was released in 1997 and featured songs recorded with stars like Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton.

Friday''s concert is in the Plaza del Machete, which on Saturday also hosts a performance from ''the father of white blues'', John Mayall. Both concerts form part of a programme dedicated to promoting the old district of the Basque capital. Money raised by the two gigs will go towards a humanitarian project in Adagir (Morocco).
