Azkena Rock 2010 opens with Gov't Mule and Airbourne

At 4.30pm the Mendizabala of Vitoria-Gasteiz will open its doors with nine acts. Concerts can be seen live via the special eitb.com website.

The Azkena Rock Festival 2010 kicks off on Thursday with a strong line-up, as a total of nine bands will pass through Vitoria-Gasteiz''s Mendizabala venue. All concerts on the first day of the festival will be held on the Alex Chilton stage.

Doors open at 4.30pm, with the first concert starting 30 minutes later: Local group Bronze have the honour of opening this, the ninth edition of the Festival. Swedish trio Baskery plus US bands Shack Shackers and The Hold Steady will be joined by English bands The Jim Jones Revue and Kitty, Daisy &' || 'amp;amp; Lewis.

Sundown will see the arrival of the day''s main acts: At 10.30pm, Gov''t Mule will take to the stage to present their new album By a thread. Later, Australian group Airbourne will introduce their latest work, No Guts, No Glory. Sounds from punk band The Black Lips will fill the air during the early hours of Friday morning, followed by sessions from DJs Nash and Pegatas who will be in the Doug Fieger and Buddy Holly tents from 3am onwards.
