Legends Kiss the highlight of Friday's Azkena Rock line-up

11 bands will fill the Alex Chilton and Doug Fieger stages at Mendizabala. Interview, photos and live concerts can be seen live via the special eitb.com website.

A total of 11 bands will take to the two main stages of Azkena''s Mendizabala venue on the second day of the Rock Festival, which opens its doors at 4pm.

At 4.20pm, rock group ''77 will play the Doug Fieger stage with a rock &' || 'amp; roll sound evocative of AC&' || 'amp;DC. Local group The Hot Dogs (from Urretxu) will fill the stage at 5pm followed by El Vez, dubbed by many as "the Mexican Elvis". Next up will be London soloist Teddy Thompson, punk-rock pioneers The Damned and lastly from Sweden, Imperial State Electric.

The first concert being played on the Alex Chilton stage will come from Dan Baird who''ll be promoting his latest album Dan Baird &' || 'amp; The Homemade Sin. Ireland''s Imeda May will be next up with her mix of rockabilly, jazz and blues music. Prior to Friday''s Festival, Imelda gave a free concert in Vitoria''s Plaza de la Virgen Blanca at 1.30pm.

Sundown will see the arrival of The Saints, Slash and veteran Australian rock band Kiss; Singer Chris Bailey will lead his band onto the Alex Chilton stage at 9pm. Ex-Guns n Roses guitarist Slash is at this year''s Azkena to present his latest disc Slash (2010) with vocals from Myles Kennedy, kicking off at 11pm. After much anticipation, crazy and face-painted, Kiss will finally take to the stage after midnight where they''ll be introducing tracks from their latest album, Sonic Boom.

As on Day One, anyone hoping to stay out after the concerts end can see in the dawn to the sounds of DJ Nash and DJ Pegatas, who''ll be in the Doug Fieger and Buddy Holly tents. Also playing in the Basque capital will be Roger Estrada and T&' || 'amp;T.

Day One

9,124 people gathered for the first day of Azkena Rock which included a packed concert from Gov''t Mule as well as the fresh tones of Kitty, Daisy &' || 'amp; Lewis and The Hold Steady as well as the reliable sounds of Th'' Legendary Shack Shakers and The Jim Jones Revue.
