President of the Regional Government of Navarra Miguel Sanz said on Sunday that ETA''s announcement of a new cease fire is a "disappointment and new stratagem of ETA to commit to the Spanish government to a negotiation".

Talking to reporters during the festival of the wine harvest of Navarre, Sanz said that ETA''s intention is to achieve whatever they want in a negotiation process and, on the contrary, will restart "its criminal activity".

"What Spaniards want is that ETA does not declare any truce, but to give up violence for good and let the citizens act freely in a democratic society such as the Spanish one", Sanz added.
