The Pacha nightclub franchise, which opens its latest offshoot in Bilbao, has invited the famous American blond Hilton dynasty heiress to its opening night on April 6th.

The people behind Pacha, the Spanish nightclub franchise which started in Ibiza and now has 25 clubs worldwide, open their newest disco on Tuesday night - right here in Bilbao.

The club (600 square metres in size) aims to fill a gap in Bilbao''s night-time market, by providing a place where clients can have a drink, listen and dance to music but also enjoy an intimate chat with friends.

Invited to attend their opening night on Tuesday April 6th, and hopefully attract massive media and client attention, is none other than the world''s most famous party queen - Paris Hilton.

Paris is no stranger to promotion: She lent her name to a chain of nightclubs belonging to Fred Khalilian and has taken part in campaigns for Italian spumante wine and Brazilian beer.

The millionairess''s commitment to promotional campaigns is notoriously unreliable, however; Khalilian broke off his arrangement with Paris in 2007 after she failed to turn up to several events.

So the managers of Pacha Bilbao will be on tenterhooks until Hilton (in the Guinness Book of Records for being the world''s "most over-rated celebrity") actually shows up on the night.

Despite the uncertainty, however, her invitation to officially open Pacha in Bilbao will create media appeal precisely at a time when hoteliers are complaining that the city''s nightlife is declining, and plan further measures to revive the fun.
