Shakira and Gerard Piqué are this summer''s most annoying celebrity couple according to a survey carried out by Spanish news agency EFE, in which the singer and Barcelona defender came out well on top, above fellow celeb pairing Iker Casillas and Sara Carbonero.

Leaving aside the interest generated by the Madrid goalie and the Barça defender, and that inspired by the choices in style and even holiday destination of their girlfriends, the public is beginning to tire of these four personalities.

Especially grating, according to EFE, is the behaviour displayed by the Colombian singer and her boyfriend, Barcelona''s central midfielder Gerard Piqué.

Asked to choose which of the two couples - Shakira/Piqué, Casillas/Carbonero - was the most annoying, an overwhelming 73.4% named the singer and her new beau.

Casillas and Carbonero, meanwhile, are said to have displayed greater discretion this summer.

Shakira and Piqué have been frequently spotted this summer, on the beach in Ibiza, at concerts, in Israel, Miami and making out in a car on their return to Barcelona.

These are, apparently, the principle motives for which the public is beginning to get tired of them.
