Vitoria-Gasteiz is hosting its eighth Azkena Rock Festival on May 14, 15 and 16. The gigs will take place at two stages of the Mendizabala premises, next to Mendizorroza sports centre in the capital of the Basque Country.

The current edition counts on several outstanding artists, however, they are not fading the rest of the less-known bands.

Azkena''s venues include performances of The Black Crowes, Alice Cooper or The Zombies, mythical names that are accompanied by some other Spanish/Basque rock bands in the program.

Thursday''s (April 14) line up opens with Juliette Lewis, The Breeders, Hardcore Superstar, The Freeks and White Denim. The Queers, Jenny Dee &' || 'amp; The Deelinquents and Burning (Madrid) complete the first day''s program.

The Black Crowes, Soul Asylum, The Zombies, UK Subs, Eli ''Paperboy'' Reed, Electric Eel Shock, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Dr Dog, Elliot Brood, Howlin Rain and Jon Ulecia &' || 'amp; Cantina Bizarro (Navarre) are playing on Friday 15.

The festival concludes on Saturday 16 with Alice Cooper, Molly Hatchet, Fun Lovin'' Criminals, The Toy Dolls, The Soundtrack of our Lives, Mike Farris &' || 'amp; the Roseland Rhythm Revue, Woven Hand, Jonny Kaplan &' || 'amp; The Lazy Stars, The New Christs, Dan Auerbach and Reverendo Parker (Vitoria-Gasteiz).

Tickets are for sale from March 13 on the official outlet Red TicketMaster, Mosaico Difusión, and on Bloody Mary (Irun) or Electra (Vitoria-Gasteiz) stores.
