Exhibition pays tribute to Basque designer Balenciaga

The exhibition on the work of international fashion master will be open until August 31. The selected creations are intended to reflect the evolution of Balenciaga's work throughout his career.

The Caja Vital Kutxa Foundation hosts the exhibition "Balenciaga: inspiration," which shows 20 exact reproductions of the most representative designs by Cristobal Balenciaga. It has been organised in order to pay tribute to the creator of haute couture that inspired other big names like Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta or Ungaro.

The Caja Vital Kutxa Foundation hosts the exhibition "Balenciaga: inspiration," which shows 20 exact reproductions of the most representative designs by Cristobal Balenciaga. It has been organised in order to pay tribute to the creator of haute couture that inspired other big names like Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta or Ungaro.

The real size models, made in paper by the team of researchers and specialists in fashion of El Corte Inglés stores, are intended to reflect the evolution of Balenciaga''s work throughout his career.

Cristobal Balenciaga was born in Getaria, Gipuzkoa, on January 21, 1895, and died in Valencia on March 23, 1972. As a fashion designer, he was considered the creator of the art of haute couture. He became a legendary figure in the world of fashion and high society, not only for his designs but also by his rigorous work.

The exhibition on the work of international fashion master will be open until August 31 in Vitoria-Gasteiz at the "Sala Fundación Caja Vital Kutxa," located on Postas Street, 13-15.
