The novel El Ángulo Ciego/The Blind Angle (Bruguera), by Luisa Etxenike, has been unanimously awarded the Euskadi literary prize for a work written in Spanish language. Meanwhile, Ruben Ruiz received the prize for Youth and Children''s Literature and Elena Odriozola got the award for the best illustrations.

The jury highlighted, in the case of The Blind Angle, the successful combination of the narrative planes focused on desire, reality, serene reflection, complaints expressed by victims of terrorism, and irrational violence and its consequences.

The prizes for each winner consist of 18,000 euros, 4,000 more if the winning work is published in another language.

Ruben Ruiz won the prize for Children''s Literature thanks to Anekdotak (Pamiela). According to the jury, the work offers a poetic look at life and the world through the language, creating a coherent universe from its diversity.

Finally, the Euskadi Prize for Literature in terms of illustration was for Aplastamiento de las gotas, or Crushing of drops, by Elena Odriozola on a story of Julio Cortázar released by Laberinto de las Artes. The jury stressed that the author becomes "a voyeur" watching the characters, who observe what is happening and convey, as intermediaries, their emotions to him.
