Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood was honored today by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The Hollywood legend was made commander of Legion d''honneur at a ceremony in Paris on Friday (13NOV09).

The honour was given to the 79-year-old star in recognition of his contributions as an actor and director in the movie industry.

Speaking at the presentation Eastwood joked, "This is great, as a commander I think I will go out on the streets of France today and throw my weight around. So thank you."

Eastwood, 79, has won Academy Awards for Best Director for the films ''Unforgiven'' (1992) and ''Million Dollar Baby'' (2004).
