Science Fiction will be the main protagonist during this weekend at the Teatro Social in the Basque town of Basauri as part of ''Basauri Con 1.0'',&' || 'nbsp; World Science Fiction convention. Actors Mary MacDonnell and Edward James Olmos, protagonists of the series Battlestar Galactica, are the stars in this year''s edition.

In the press conference offered on Friday, Edward James Olmos stated that James Cameron''s 3-D adventure film Avatar -nominated for nine Oscars- "will not just change science fiction world but the use of technology to create images too".

With regard to Battlestar Galactica, he said that they never expected so much success. Olmos explained that it has been the first series in history used by UNO to promote the concept of "reconciliation among civilizations".

Organizers have prepared several activities for this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday MacDonell and Olmos will attend a press conference and will answer what their fans ask or comment. Besides, they will have the opportunity to watch Battlestar Galactica episodes on the big screen, attend photo sessions, autographs, games, etc.
