Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo will be performing at Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao, Biscay (Basque Country) until Sunday, April 18th.

It is a Company of professional male dancers specialised in the classic and original Russian style repertoire. The comedy is achieved by exaggerating the narrative, accidents, and underlying incongruities of classical dance and the choreographies.

Founded in 1974 by a group of ballet enthusiasts for the purpose of presenting traditional, classical ballet in parody form, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo first performed in the late-late shows in Off-Off Broadway.

Since their beginnings, the Trocks have established themselves as a major dance phenomenon throughout the world, which has led them to participate in dance festivals in Holland, Madrid, Montreal, New York, Paris, Spoleto, Turin and Vienna.

The original concept has not changed. It is a Company of professional male dancers specialised in the classic and original Russian style repertoire. The comedy is achieved by exaggerating the narrative, accidents, and underlying incongruities of classical dance and the choreographies. The fact that men dance all the parts enhances rather than mocks the spirit of classical dance.

The Company has plans to incorporate new works into its repertoire, visit new cities and countries and continue its original purpose: bring the pleasure of dance to the widest possible audience.
