Several thousand people tested their bravery by dashing with six fighting bulls through the streets of the Navarrese city of Pamplona/Iruña in the fifth day of the famed San Fermin festival but the Spanish Red Cross said that no one was gored.

The bulls accompanied by guiding steer stayed together for much of the chase Wednesday but one broke free toward the end causing moments of tension and fear among the screaming runners.

Red Cross spokesman Alfonso Contin said there were no gorings while the city's Navarra Hospital said three people had been admitted with bruises and cuts from falls during the run.

The nine-day festival, that became world famous after Ernest Hemingway wrote about it in his novel "The Sun Also Rises," finishes Saturday.
