An special open forum on coexistence to analyze jointly the new situation in the Basque Country and agree the political initiatives that help to speed up the definitive end of terrorism kicked off on Monday when representatives of the political parties in the Basque parliament met for the first time.

The forum will be formed formally only by representatives of the parties in the Basque Parliament but won't restrict the number of attendants and will allow representatives of other institutions or associations to take part.

Representatives of the parties included Joseba Egibar (PNV), José Antonio Pastor (PSE-EE), Antón Damborenea (PP), Aintzane Ezenarro (Aralar) and Mikel Arana (Ezker Anitza-IU). There were no members representing UPyD and EA, as these two parties voted against the creation of this forum and have declined to take part.
