Typing ‘let it snow’ into your Google browser will gradually turn your screen into a flurry of whiteness which is sure to make you feel more Christmassy.

Googles latest stunt is not so much a doodle as a full-on interactive work of art. By typing ‘Let it snow’ into the search engine browser, Google turns your screen into a snow scene.

‘Flakes’ of snow begin to fall from the top of the screen, gradually turning into a blizzard that fogs up your monitor almost completely.

For extra fun, it even lets you write your name - or any other message - in the misted up image, by dragging your cursor across the screen!

Google’s newest trick, known as an ‘Easter egg’, is not the first of its kind. Last month, by typing ‘do a barrel roll’, you could send your browser screen spinning.

If you are not yet feeling Christmassy, type in ‘let it snow’ and wonder a while at the new view on your computer; it is sure to get you in the spirit.

If you enjoy watching the falling flakes but need to keep using Google, clicking on Defrost will wipe your screen clean and leave you free to keep searching.
