About 8,000 news items or stories have been gathered and published over the last ten years by Basque research, a website managed by the Elhuyar Foundation, that has been the showcase for work involving research, development and innovation carried out in the Basque Country.

The science and technology news items of Basque Research are also published in Eurekalert!, thanks to an agreement signed in 2004. Eurekalert! is the web site of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the publishers of the prestigious Science journal.

Thanks to this network, news stories on research undertaken in the Basque Country have been published in numerous prestigious publications: The Times, New Scientist, BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, CNN, amongst others.

To celebrate the anniversary, Basque Research has drawn up a list of the most read news items that have had great repercussion worldwide.
