The second round of the Hang Loose Pro surf championship is already underway. On the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha, Basques Hodei Collazo and Eneko both qualified for the third round.

Collazo, from Zarautz, had a difficult heat, up against surfers of such renown as Heitor Alves, last week''s winner of the 6 Stars in Ceara; and Marlon Lipke, who last year competed in the WCT. Hodei came second with two waves awarded 6.17 and 5 points; he took a total of four waves.

Eneko Acero managed to qualify in a heat which was unaccompanied by decent swell, and choosing a good wave was no easy task. His chances of making it into the third round came under risk towards the close of the heat when rival Pedro Henrique made a good last-minute manoeuvre. In the end, however, Acero also managed second place with two of the best waves of the heat, awarded 5 and 2.13 points.
