Unai Basurko began a sailing expedition to the North Cape (Norway) on Saturday, August 7th.

The aim of the expedition is to develop educational materials about the environment for primary students.

Basurko set out from Bilbao on Saturday travelling aboard the ''Pakea Bizkaia'' towards the west coast of Ireland and Scotland, crossing Loch Ness eventually visiting the Norwegian cities of Bergen and Stavanger. The trip will finish in the North Cape, on parallel 71.

After reaching the northernmost point of Europe, the expedition - consisting of eight crew members and Basurko - is expected to return to the Basque town of Getxo in Biscay in late October.

According to the Basque sailor, the expedition will strengthen existing relationships between Bilbao and Norwegian cities.
