Athletic Club Bilbao defender Mikel San Jose will miss London Olympics after falling ill with chickenpox.

The Athletic Bilbao center back left the team's training camp on Monday to keep the rest of the team from being effected.

A doctor for the Spanish team, Jorgue Guillen, says players had undergone medical tests to determine if further measures needed to be taken although "many of the players have already been vaccinated."

San Jose is the second key player dropped from Spain's Olympic squad. Last week, Barcelona said midfielder Thiago Alcantara will not recover from injury in time for the London Games that start July 27.
