Real Betis beat Real Sociedad 2-0 at home with goalkeeper Adrian San Miguel backing up Paulao's and Ruben Castro's goals with an inspired performance.

The start of Real Betis's match at home to Real Sociedad was delayed for about 17 minutes by a power cut. It was only two weeks ago that Rayo Vallecano's match against visiting Real Madrid was postponed until the following day after their floodlights were sabotaged, but the problem in Seville was blamed on a general outage in the local area.

Betis defender Paulao muscled by his marker to meet Juan Carlos Perez's corner at the near post and head it through the arms of goalkeeper Eñaut Zubikarai in the 18th minute.

Castro, who had hit the woodwork earlier, sealed Betis' first win in three rounds in the 81st with a header after Adrian had denied Real Sociedad forward Carlos Vela on various occasions.

Betis finished with 10 men after Mario was sent off two minutes from time.
