Heavy rains swamp camps holding quake homeless in Haiti

One of the heaviest rainfalls since Haiti's January 12 earthquake swamped several homeless camps in the capital, prompting a massive clean up and emergency trench-digging on Friday. One camp on a former golf course was particularly badly hit by the rain that fell overnight on Thursday, with water coursing down the slopes of the site, sweeping some residents into the water and spreading mass panic.
