The Zombies, TSOOL, Breeders and Juliette Lewis among latest names to play this year's Azkena Rock

Vitoria's rock festival, Azkena Rock, scheduled to take place this year between 14th-16th May in Mendizabala, is close to confirming the final line-up of its eighth outing. Today, thirteen new acts have been confirmed, including Soul Asylum, The Zombies, The Soundtrack of our Lives, The Breeders and Juliette Lewis, according to event organisers, Last Tour International.

The biggest surprise addition to this year's line-up is Soul Asylum, one of the best American bands of the 1990s, who return after a long absence with their new album, The Silver Lining. Likewise, Swedish group The Soundtrack Of Our Lives will return to Euskadi to present Communion a double LP which puts them back at the pinnacle of psychedelic pop rock.

Line-up by day

With some names still yet to confirm for the weekend, the line-up for Thursday 14th May will be: Juliette Lewis, The Breeders, Hardcore Superstar, The Freeks, White Denim, The Queers, Jenny Dee & The Deelinquents and Burning.

Friday 15th May will be the turn of: The Black Crowes, Soul Asylum, The Zombies, Bad Brains, Eli 'Paperboy' Reed, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Dr Dog, Elliot Brood, Howlin Rain and Jon Ulecia & Cantina Bizarro.

Finally, the festival's climax on Saturday 16th May will include: Molly Hatchet, Fun Lovin' Criminals, The Toy Dolls, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Mike Farris & The Roseland Rhythm Revue, Woven Hand, Jonny Kaplan & The Lazy Stars, The New Christs, Dan Auerbach and Reverendo Parker.

Entry for the three days of the festival is priced at 90 euros plus booking fee, while single day tickets will go on days this Friday 13th March, priced at 30 euros for Thursday and 45 euros for Friday and Saturday.
