Those planning on attending the International Festival of Documentary Cinema and Short Films of Bilbao, Zinebi, which takes place in the Biscay capital between 23rd and 28th November, will be able to enjoy, from 11th November until 21st, a programme of free opening activities, of which the Ensanche building will serve as the principal "meeting point for reflection and enjoyment".
During the presentation of the second edition of Pre-Zinebi, which takes place between 11th and 21st November with activities organized by associations, collectives, private firms and training centres all from Bilbao's audiovisual sector, Culture and Education Councillor Ibone Bengoetxea and Zinebi Director, Ernesto del Rio, described the event as "a faithful reflection of ideas, initiatives, creativity and work by all those involved in turning audiovisual production into a driving force behind cultural and economic activity in the Biscay capital".
Given the success of previous editions, on Saturday 14th November Pre-Zinebi will also host ZinebiExpress, a competition in which participants will have 48 hours to complete a short film or documentary. Their entry has to be in by 8pm on Monday 16th November at the Ensache Building. Contestants are free to choose the topic, but the film must feature the host city.
