PNV won less than one point to the Spanish Socialist Party-PSE in the Basque Autonomous Community. PNV was the most voted political party in Bizkaia, while socialists were the most voted ones in Gipuzkoa and Alava.
In the third position in the Basque Autonomous Community there are two candidacies with a tenth difference: PP had taken 16% of the votes and Internationalist Initiative 15,9%.
Basque Nationalist Party-EA and Aralar obtained 5,6% of the votes, United Left-Ezker Batua 1,8% and Union, Progress and Democracy-UPyD 1,4%.
In the Foral Community of Navarra, PP won with 38% of the votes compared to 31% of PSOEs. Internationalist Initiative obtained 11,5%, EA/Aralar 6,9%, IU 3,3% and PNV 1,8%.
The coalition in which PNV was integrated was the third most voted one and obtained 2 seats. United Left won two. EA/Aralar coalition obtained one, the same as UPyD.
In Spain, PP obtained more than half million of votes than PSOE. The right-wing Popular Party has won the European Parliamentary elections and will now represent Spain in the EU.
PP had taken 55 per cent of the votes, compared to 37 per cent for the left-wing socialist party, the PSOE. 6,615,000 votes against 6,032,000. Moreover PP won 23 seats (1 less than five years ago) and PSOE 21 (4 less).
