One of the arrested is Aitor Eliza, who is related to ETA's political apparatus. The other person is a woman who has been identified as Oihana San Vicente, agencies said.

The arrests took place in Carnac, Brittany.

French police arrested alleged ETA members Aitor Elizaran Aguilar and Oihana San Vicente Saez de Zerain in Carnac, Brittany, northwest France, on Monday morning, EFE news agency reported quoting sources in the fight against terrorism.

They were using a stolen car -an Audi A3- and were armed, according to the same sources. Police thinks Aitor Elizaran is related to ETA's political apparatus, while Oihana San Vicente last year appeared photographed alongside three other people in the Basque newspaper Gara. The report said that ten people who were in search and seizure had taken the decision to join ETA because despite the fact they did not "belong to the armed group," they were "treated as if we were," they argued.
