Police arrest Pedro Mari Olano accused of collaborating with ETA

The arrested was given a two year sentence for threatening to kill the Mayor of Lizartza, Regina Otaola. He has also been linked to a vehicle that ETA abandoned in Salamanca in 2008.

Spanish Civil Guard arrested Pedro Mari Olano Zabala last night in Lizartza (Gipuzkoa, Basque Country) on suspicion of being involved in the transport of explosives for the terrorist group ETA, according to anti-terrorist sources.

Olano Zabala was condemned to a two year sentence after threatening to kill the Mayor of Lizartza Regina Otaola during the raising of the Spanish, Basque and local flags in September 2007. According to the sentence Olano shouted “vas a morir” (“you are going to die”) at the Mayor.

However, he was arrested yesterday in Lizartza on suspicion of being involved in the transport of explosives for the terrorist group ETA.
