The streets, roads, villages and even the more hidden spots of the Basque Country are now available to see on Google Street View. Users can take a virtual walk around the Basque Country thanks to the latest tool from Google Maps, visiting its homes and towns or even taking a journey along its highways.
The newest tool from Google Maps was made possible thanks to two key implements: the car and the bicycle. The first began its tour of the Basque Country more than a year ago, when it spent several weeks photographing the main cities and towns of the Autonomous Community. Thanks to the Google bike, however, the search tool was able to get into harder-to-access areas with the aim of making the maps as complete and accurate as possible.
Aside from the Basque Country, Google Street View allows you to visit the principal towns and city's of the entire Spanish state.
How to use
Google Street View is simple to use: first you need to go to Google Maps and enter the name of the town or city you wish to find; then click on 'Search Maps'. On the left, various photos of the area will appear and on your right, a map with a series of icons.
If on the top left-hand corner of the map the little man above the 'zoom' bar is coloured yellow, it means that your chosen town or city can be visited via the Google Search View tool. Then just click on the yellow man and drag him to the spot in the town or city where you wish to conduct your virtual tour.
If you wish to see the Google Street View map on a full screen, you can click on the icon in the top right-hand corner which contains four outward pointing arrows.
To move around the map, click once on one of the arrows or twice on the white or yellow lines to take you along the roads; click and drag the image sideways to get a full 360º view. Enjoy your trip!
