Internet users can now make their own virtual pilgrimage across the so-called Camino de Santiago, or Santiago's way, thanks to Google Street View, which is a Google Maps tool.

The streets of cities and towns which can be found along the pilgrimage route, their paths, roads, streets, restaurants, hotels, and picturesque spots are now available when displaying Google Street View. The itinerary comprehends the stretch between the Galician town of Finisterre and Burguete-Auritz, in Navarre.

This way, users can virtually make a pilgrimage along the Santiago's Way and visit emblematic spots such as Pamplona-Iruña, Estella-Lizarra, Logroño, Nájera, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Astorga, Ponferrada and Santiago de Compostela.

Planning the trip

Thanks to the new virtual map, tourists and pilgrims will be able to make a trip along the Way or plan their journey with the help of the tool, which allows the user to locate potentially interesting places such as hotels, hostels or restaurants.
