Video: Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities has released still images of a newly unearthed granite head of one the most famous pharaohs, who ruled nearly 3,400 years ago. The head of Amenhotep III was dug out of the ruins of his mortuary temple in the southern city of Luxor, the council announced on Sunday.The head is part of a larger statue found several years ago, along with the parts of the body, the back slab and the ceremonial beard.

Suicide bombers attacked in the heart of Kabul on Friday, triggering a series of explosions and gunbattles that killed at least 17 people in an area of residential hotels rented by Indian embassy workers and other foreigners, police and witnesses said.The Taliban claimed responsibility, saying five suicide bombers conducted the early morning attacks on two buildings used by foreign citizens.
